Memo to Isaac Hunt from Harvey Friedman and Eleanor Robbins about an interview with Richard Boone – with handwritten notes

An annotated memo from Harvey Friedman and Eleanor Robbins, detailing an interracial interview with staff of the Southern Regional Council. According to the interview, members of the council said that the “riots” were reasonably controlled, and stemmed from a systemic lack of opportunities and still-segregated services for black Atlantans that the city, police forces, and Mayor Allen, did nothing to address. If such issues were not addressed, the Council believed discontent would continue to explode across the country with increasing potency. The group also discussed strategies for reducing/preventing violence within the current unrest.
