Memo to Mr. Nelson from Isaac Hunt regarding an interview with Emma Darnell – with handwritten notes

An annotated memo from Isaac Hunt, Atlanta Field Team Leader, to Charles Nelson, Director of Field Operations, detailing an interview with Emma Darnell, a lawyer from the Equal Employment Opportunities Commission, dated October 19, 1967. Darnell discussed employment programs for black residents, such as Economic Opportunity Atlanta, which despite some success suffered from poor information on Atlanta neighborhoods, lack of communication and sensitivity to the needs of these neighborhoods, and poor organization overall. Also discussed is the lack of support towards desegregation from the Department of Labor and various unions (with the United Auto Workers as a notable exception).
